To Dadesville,

Firstly, we would like to extend warm greetings to our tropical friends in the southeast, and hope that your day is going excellently.

Secondly, we would like to inquire about the status of our relations. Generally, Florida and the United States of Columbia have been on good terms. However, we fear that relations have been strained in recent years given our awkwardly obvious attempts to hinder American and Floridian expansion into the Southern States.

We first want to clear something up: we were not opposed to Floridian expansion into the region, and in other circumstances, would have permitted it. However, it would not be possible for us to deny American expansion into the region while ignoring yours given the similar means used to achieve it, and the denial of American access to the Carolinas was seen as a major objective at the time. It was this alone that led to some hostility on our part towards your government, with which we've had nothing but cordial relations with prior.

As another talking point, we want to discuss with you what we think is American expansion into the Southern rump state. We had discussions ongoing with the Southern government following the secession crisis on a possible referendum on joining the USC, which were abruptly ended following discussions with the Americans. With the suggestion that the South may join the USA, the population has begun to protest en masse. However, attempts to express solidarity and reach out to the Southern government have fallen on deaf ears, leading us to believe that American influence on the government has not waned despite the protests. Where does the Floridian government stand on this situation? Obviously, we want to deny American expansion into the rump state, regardless of if this rump state were to eventually join Columbia or not.

We would also like to discuss your thoughts on containing American expansion as a whole.

On top of this, we have been noticing an ongoing policy of British expansion into Florida's sphere of influence with the reintegration of Antigua into their realm and a possible similar fate on its way for Haiti. They have overtly stated to us in private communications during the secession crisis that they are aiming to directly counter your own influence in the Caribbean. While we have few interests in the region ourselves, we do have a vested interest in keeping it under the influence of a close ally rather than letting it possibly fall under the influence of an ally of our enemy. Therefore, as a generally forgotten force in the region with our Atlantic fleet based out of Mexico, we would also like to offer our assistance if ever needed.

We look forward to hearing back from you soon.
