Intelligence reports a potential threat to Leaders of the Gulf States meeting in Doha, received from an agent posted in [REDACTED]. The targets are a grouping of radical extremists that do not agree with the principles at the heart of discussions in the Capital, and it is anticipated that a coordinated attack will occur from two locations in the forms of a car bomb and a small scale assault force attempting to take hostages.
A team of eight Q/CIA agents, each wearing bullet proof vests and dressed in plain clothes - armed with SIG Sauer P226 Tactical silenced pistols, attempt to arrest a terror suspect on street level in the city of Doha ahead of the Conference of Gulf States on Human Rights. The Target is known to be carrying a concealed weapon, with the possibility of a suicide vest not ruled as yet: his location, as trailed by field agents of the Q/CIA, is at current centered in a densely populated area. Rooftop sniping teams do not have a clear shot, nor are they likely to.
A separate squad of sixteen military Commando units have been sent to intercept another target, reported to be the summation of an entire Terror cell in the city border region, of whom intelligence places as a target of extreme risk, such that a bomb diffusal specialist will be on hand to assist. The team will breach using shotguns and detain or neutralise targets, and proceed to gather intelligence that will be used to try the men before the Attorney General, with the possibility of the death penalty being carried by the State.
Debrief:
The perfect scenario played out on the field; Five terrorist suspects have been apprehended without casualties, and vast quantities of intelligence have been recovered by the Q/CIA; an additional twenty analysts have been employed by the Agency simply for the purpose of processing and logging electronic documentation. Tragically, the individual who's information lead to such a successful field mission was assassinated in [REDACTED] as a direct result of Operation Nightwatchman.
The case files are in the process of publication, as per the orders of the Attorney General and on behalf of the Prime Minister, for the purpose of informing the greater public of what was clearly an Operation that had invested in it, some form of public interest. Al Jazeera had began press coverage of events only moments after Special Forces had escorted suspects from the location and into Armoured Transport. Due to the publicity attracted by this event, of which the Government has hardly attempted to suppress due to it serving as the first major triumph of its' 'State Security Agency', it it rumoured by some in the intelligence community that a single other extremist had managed to escape the immediate vicinity.
