Conservative Party politician, Abdul Hussein, has resigned as Prime Minister, citing familial responsibilities as "one of many reasons" behind a long-planned decision, his actions having come a fortnight after the birth of sons Faisel and Hamad. His chosen successor, former Prime Minister of Norway, /u/IntellectualPolitics, has promised to promote a more secular state of Qatar, and has named his legislative and diplomatic focuses as pursuing a closer relationship with neighbouring states, Oman and Saudi Arabia, in addition to delivering on key manifesto pledges such as the regional devolution of powers pertaining to Town and City Planning, and Housing; it is understood that the new leader will continue on a platform of relative free-market Capitalism, and will also introduce a Charter of Rights for Qatari Citizens.
