Statement from the Minister for Local Government and Devolution:

"A State of Emergency has been declared. The Government of the Kingdom of Norway and Iceland do not recognise the establishment of a contemporary legislative body in direct contrast to the current devolved assembly as that of a legitimate cause and see it as a threat to our country that the previous Administration has had served, a disposal attempt.

Due to exceptional circumstances, the Prime Minister has agreed with his counter-part in Iceland, the areas identified to be within the control of the Separatists will now be placed under martial law. The Icelandic Coast Guard Service is also now under temporary suspension, its' duties shall be carried out by the Norwegian Navy; all Icelandic Military Vehicles and Equipment not in use by the recognised devolved Assembly will further be impounded until further notice. Riot Police have been dispatched to several locations, we wish to make it known that we are fully committed to supporting the devolved assembly lead by the First Minister."
