The nations' Conservative Party was today successful in overturning the premiership of the previous administration; Its' manifesto offers promises pertaining to social conservatism and economic liberalism, under the slogan, 'prosperity at home, prestige abroad.' The newly elected Prime Minister is expected to enact sweeping reforms and it is understood that when the Cabinet is announced later, it will reflect these ideals - it is expected that several Departments will be merged or otherwise removed.
The Prime Minister further will seek to bring about constitutional reform, and may consider introducing an elected Senate, which will transform the political system into a bicameral legislator, and will seek to expand Parliament to two hundred Seats, with thirty of these to be filled with members from the annexed state of Iceland, this is seen as a move to further include the nation in centralised politics at the Parliament in Oslo.
A short Statement from the Prime Minister:
"Norway, and Iceland, should expect a Government that is competent, compassionate and able to deliver prosperity to its' peoples. I will meet with colleagues later today and shall announce to the country, my Cabinet, this evening; together, we will deliver to you our manifesto, the policies that we were elected on, in full. After a hard fought campaign, for which I have Lynton Crosby to thank, I can now say to you, the electorate, that the Kingdoms of Norway and Iceland will find its' voice on the worlds' stage, and it will sing again.
For too long has progress been stalled by a political system that is completely inclusive, a Conservative Government will deliver change, a Conservative Government will focus on giving a voice to an Iceland that has been sidelined by previous administrations. We will priorities education, reward innovation, encourage growth, and ensure prosperity, and we will do so by reforming taxation, reviewing expenditure and creating a stable and robust economy that is no longer reliant on fossil fuels or foreign nations.
The Conservative Party has won itself a clear and confident victory, our mandate is unquestioned and we shall act on its' merit. The country has entrusted us, so there will be no concessions, we will deliver to you our policies with distinction. We shall not compromise, and for that, I thank you."
