Best way to use a Prot Paladin in RBG?
Post Body

Hey folks, I'm trying to play with a friend group and push rating in RBGs. We've been playing pretty well up to about 1700 or so but we're having a lot of problems and struggling to push past about 1715 or so. We don't have a super consistent comp beyond a sub rogue, disc priest, and warrior. Generally we're a pretty chill group and we're trying to push without making anybody swap specs or classes to something they're not keen on playing unless we absolutely have to.

We have a Prot paladin in our team and as an RBG lead, I'm really struggling with how best to use her. She was running flags sort of alright at lower ratings, but really has seemed to struggle lately with flag cap maps- they're absolutely our team's biggest weakness and we lost the vast majority of them. Prot sucks pretty hard as a flag carrier because it can't use its defensives or survive alone for very long.

I really don't want to pressure her to swap to ret unless there's no other choice, especially since buying a ret weapon is a pretty big Conquest commitment and she doesn't particularly want to play the spec. She's been a intelligent target caller and handles front line stuff really well, especially with Inquisition and Steed of Glory.

Is there some way we could retain a Prot in our lineup and still handle teamfights well? Are there any classes or specs that synergize particularly well with Prot for any RBG comps? I'd love to grab a demon hunter tank or a guardian for carrying, but it's been really hard trying to figure out what to do with our comp.
