Hey guys,
So I felt like playing through another Gothic adventure but decided I felt like trying out a few mods.
The first one (and maybe the biggest) I saw was returning 2.0 and after watching a ton of youtube hype about it, I decided to download it and give it a try.
One of the videos I watched suggested that I read through the "official" wiki of the mod and so I did.. for the links on the wiki that worked anyway.
So there I am, mod installed successfully, game launched, ready to drop into an adventure.
The first thing I noticed after pressing New Game was a difficulty screen.
Gothic Complexity (?) and Nightmare.
Since I like a challenge, I'm tempted to press Nightmare, but I can't find what nightmare difficulty is supposed to do anywhere.
One of the videos I saw suggested there is extra content on higher difficulties but that video seemed to be on a different version of the mod than the current one.
Any nameless heroes here that played this mod and know what nightmare does? Some minor spoilers are ok if it helps clear things up.
Also, I read on the steam forums that there are some major bugs and broken mechanics and generally quite some criticism; Plot characters dying which disables quest lines, quest items or mobs that can't be retrieved if you get rid of them before getting the specified quest etc.
That made me wonder if this mod is worth all the game time it claims to add.
I don't mind if it's not totally lore friendly but I don't want to have to cheat my way through half of the mod because the game soft locks me into quests I can't finish.
What's your take on this?
I appreciate your thoughts on the mod!
