Since Gothic 1 was on sale, I picked it up and patched it according to the guide in the subreddit (Union, Gothic 1 Community Patch, DX9 renderer, Gothic 2 control scheme, etc) but I don't know a whole lot about how to play. From what I've read, Strength and 1-handed weapons are ideal, some scripts can break if a related object is used before a quest requires it (which could be fixed in a patch, idk), ore is currency, lockpicking doesn't require the related skill, things like that.
In particular, combat seems like something I could use some advice on. I'm not really sure how to fight enemies control-wise, it seems like pressing forward and LMB pulls off attacks?
