One of the last bills was to improve US own artillery production. Last year US was making around 20k artillery shells a month. This year 40k per month building to 80k by years end. That’s an Army estimate. Russia can reportedly make 2.5 million to 5 millon this year, plus 1 million they brought and strategic reserves.

US army wants something to replace the Stinger. So happily getting rid of their stock whilst it’s replacement is being designed.

According to Raytheon CEO, first 10 months of the war Ukraine used 5 years US production of Javelins, 12 years production of Stingers.

That’s why even early last year, US was saying Ukraine is burning through more ammo than the West can produce.

Russia made the switch to wartime economy earlier than Europe. More jobs,increased the wages, longer hours, exempt from mobilisation/draft.

Other countries have to adapt their production capabilities.

Question is how long Russia can keep this going. May try to achieve its Ukrainian goals in next couple of years. Then sit back and regroup it’s economy.

Maybe that is playing on EU countries leaders minds as well. How much can they change their countries economy.
