Putin sparks fears of war with Nato as he visits Kaliningrad

Less people die to war and starvation right now than ANY time in human history. Every day that passes is the new record holder for the longest period of human peace.

I've told this to people before who have then laughed in my face, but of course are unable to back up their opposition to this fact.

We're just more connected, information wise, than ever before, and the most awful thing to happen in a small town somewhere, that never would have been known by anyone, is now world news. People feed off that shit and are convinced the world is worse than it's ever been.

As someone who look at technology in the 90's and thought "Oh my god, the future is going to be awesome," imagine how disappointed I am at what we've done with it all.

I do appreciate your larger point, though, which is that things are much better today than it was 100 years ago, in basically all measures.

Cool. That's the point.

But we aren't talking about your feelings about the US military. We're talking about whether the world is a safer place (which means many things, not just whether or not there's war or violence), and it is. It's not even a question. I "wasn't prepared" because we aren't talking about what you want to talk about, and I don't get sucked into bullshit that easily.

This is how I respond to people that want to make a point that isn't relevant to the conversation.

This was about the most pointless reply I think I've ever received on reddit. Did you pat yourself on the back after your Ted Talk that nobody attended?

Back to amateur troll school!

So you already know you're wrong. The trick is in relaxing the muscles so it doesn't hurt as much. It'll eventually start to feel good.

Do you jerk off to yourself in the mirror every morning while telling yourself that you know it all? Because that is absolutely the vibe you're putting off.
