So my world takes place in a solar system (not the sol system) made up of multiple planets, with each planet having different species of humans that evolved overtime to each planets conditions. Now, the idea is that each planet would be similar to earth in some ways, in terms of it still being consisted of continents, countries, and independent nations, rather than each planet being its own unified government/culture.
Now, this would make world building alliances, trade partners etc a little more difficult, since i cant resort to just planets acting like one big country. What would be the best way to approach such a system in terms of how planets co-operate with each other?Or am I getting to in over my head haha.
We have this in the real world. Alliances between countries talk with the alliances of other countries. So you could for example have a pact between NATO and the Confederacy of Polar Mars. In some ways this separation into units is a pretty decent check on power because you have more safeguards against someone just having an episode and deciding to cover the universe in bloodshed.
