Sci-Fi Builders with high sublight mobility: How do you handle any ship being a possible RKV?

Post Body

RKV stands for Relativistic Kill Vehicle. Its a simple and terrible concept: A spaceborne vehicle accelerated to a significant fraction of C will do catastrophic damage to the planet's surface. All you need is fuel, time, and a good calculator.

How do you handle that in your setting?

Edit: This is specifically speaking about Non Faster Than Light travelling. This is some jerks with plenty of gas, a calculator, and an engine.

Comments

Rocket equation. The R is pretty stringently defined so outside of pushing lasers or antimatter the amount of drive systems that can actually get that fast is genuinely not that high.

You can get Fast. But not relativistic.

I feel like people get too fascinated with the theory to consider the practicality.
