[Additional Context at the bottom, unsure if it'll help]
What do y'all think of the following for my Sci Fi Setting:
•Military Command Structure supersedes and outranks Colonist Command Structure 95% of the time. As such the Military may requisition/renovate/take over an agreed upon section of any colonial vessel to do with as it pleases. This would mostly be for transporting secret projects that are intended to be of use/future availibility for/to Colonists.
•The Peacekeeper Corps will act as intermediaries in conflicts between military and Spacer Militia/Non Military individuals. Their' power, if any over military and non-military is situational and conditional, but clearly outlined.
•Colonist Command Structure is more a fuse of corporate/blue collar design, even with Ranks. As such the Captain of a Colonist Vessel would be that 5%, outranking military personnel up to a point; But clearance to any onboard military objectives would be strictly a need to know/clearance basis.
•The IRL US Military's terminology would be a good foundation for a human only military (Humanity is under the impression that they have yet to find any INTELLIGENT life in the galaxy). Your thoughts?
Additional Context: This takes place in an alternate timeline universe within a galaxy 11 galaxies away from the Milky Way. This version of humanity is only recently back at a space age tech level similar to the UNSC from Halo and Aliens/Aliens vs. Predator, with the development of Reliable FTL and energy weapons still ongoing. For 186 years have military and colonial vessels been traveling beyond humanity's 11 1/2 colonized planets in a second great expansion. An expansion that will be going quite wrong...
