How big would a castle need to be to sustain a small country for years on end?
Post Body

In my world one of the Kingdoms never really expanded too much, but it resisted invasion for millenia by having an impenetrable fortress, how big would it realistically need to be for it to be able to sustain this kingdom of about 2-3000 people.
