Hello, I wanted to introduce my Universe to this subreddit. First I want to give a little background to how this all started for me then I will dive into my first Lore post of many. This will be very long winded so be ready. Also I do not claim to be a writer in fact I'm a piss poor writer so please be patient with me.
First I want to fill all y'all in on how my brain works when making my lore. Right now I'm in the stage of writing the true unbiased facts of all the elements in my universe. I want to establish history, lore and purpose behind each species, faction and being in my universe and what influences in my universe give them their purpose. In the future I may start writing narratives and start my story but for now I am getting the base for everything giving everything purpose.
Another thing you may notice is that there are a lot of elements, ideas, characters, concepts and whatever else from other fandoms and genres in my lore. My reasoning for that is because I wanted to create a universe that is a conglomerate of all my passions and interests. I wanted take the ideas from other Fandoms that I really liked and put my own twist on them. Rework them so they could fit into my universe, I sort of want to say "yes, these are my interests and passions and I am unashamed about them".
I originally started this universe back in like 2016 when I was a senior in high school and I was first introduced to DND. I built my first character Farmaris a half elf fighter. I gave him his personality, character traits, morality and purpose however, it felt like something was still missing. I wanted to give him a past, where he came from, who his family was, what events shaped him to be the person he is today, why he had 18 strength, 19 charisma and only 7 wisdom. I wanted to feel like he wasn't just generic character spawned in with console commands I wanted him to be an established person with a history. I began by building a world Skao, then I built the continent Riinkar, then I built the states/provinces and then I put history behind them. What events shaped the world and what not. I have now exploded into a Galactic level I like the idea of a single world a single land mass but I REALLY like massive scale huge places to explore. To make it feel like the universe that all my events take place is able to contain such events.
My initial plan was to write the preexisting DND lore to fit my world almost like a reskin. I wasn't trying to make an original creation at first I was trying to find a way to make all this lore fit into my world. However, I started making a few tweaks changing the origins of magic, I changed how a certain species came into existence and then I finally said "screw it" and made my first original concept behind gods and the beings beyond them. This is what my first lore post will be about, The Influences and The Immortals the Heralds of Creation.
The Influences
Iagi and Yfes the Influences, beings of pure Positive and Negative, Formation and Destruction, the original engineers of Creation. Each believed that they could form a perfect Creation, that they did not need the help of their counterpart. However, each reality, each universe, each cosmos that the Influences made collapsed on themselves. Each was Unbalanced incapable of supporting the idea of Creation because it did not have the counter weight of the other. The Void was littered with their countless attempts at Creation. Each began reviewing their failures, identifying where each universe fell apart, what caused the downfall of their seemingly perfect worlds. They realized each universe was missing Balance, Iagi and Yfes realizing they needed each other for what one lacked the other possessed. Reluctantly they managed to work together believing the other to be a fool who knew nothing of the concept of Perfection. Slowly each began to realize that they would think of things that the other had not thought of, filling in the gaps that were causing the collapse of previous realities. Each corrected the flaws of the other meshing ideas together, forming the true concept of Balance forming a functional and perfect Creation. Finally after the turmoil the concepts of Balance and Creation were finally formed which also means the concept of "Unbalance" was formed. The antithesis of what the Influences had spent their entire beings to create. To combat this the Influences created a guardian to watch over Creation to ensure that "Unbalance" would not contaminate and corrode their perfect creation. The Influences bestowed upon their guardian the gifts of Positive and Negative, the ability to fill Creation with life and wonders making sure to preserve the perfect Balance that the Influences had created.
The Immortals
The Immortals pure embodiments of the concepts of Positive and Negative, Formation and Destruction. The Immortals were gifted the ability to fill Creation with life but were forced to obey the rules that the Influences had set in place. The Immortals had to maintain Balance or Creation would crumble. To ensure they could watch over all of Creation they formed "Em Inuth" the City in the Sky. They built magnificent buildings, monuments and wonders Em Inuth was a paradise a place of beauty and perfection. The first formation of the Immortals was the Children, angelic beings who were the mortal version of the Immortals. Demigods with incredible power and a direct connection to Em Inuth and the Pure Aas Flow. The Aasimar were not mortal in the sense that they would eventually die but mortal in the sense that they were not Omni-dimensional being such as the Immortals. They were limited to the Mortal realm but were the most powerful beings to ever be restricted to the Mortal realm gods among the rest.
The first act of the Immortals was to create rules for Creation, Laws that would be followed in order to control and maintain Balance the ultimate power in Creation. They came up with the Commandments of Creation. Creation, Spirit and Universe. To prevent one Law from holding to much power the Laws were separated into 7 Laws of Balance Formation, Destruction, Time, Space, Mind, Soul and Reality. These Laws were not written down on paper but knowledge, abstract ideas taken from the mind of each Immortal. The knowledge of what it takes to create Perfection and how to maintain that perfection through Balance. The Immortals each willingly submitted this knowledge to create the Laws showing that they were dedicated to the cause of Perfection and Balance and that their position was not about being the most powerful but safeguarding Creation. Each Immortal draws their power from the Laws using this Aas flow to fill creation with their own unique Positive and Negative influence. The next act of the Immortals was to begin filling Creation with life and wonders.
For now this is where I will leave it because there are other concepts I need to explain. Such as Aas, the Aasimar, The Mortal, Deity and Immortal Realms, Elesyean and Hell. This will start to paint the picture of the Immortal side of things and then I will begin to bring in the other realms and tie everything together.
Also I know that I suck major balls at writing, I made terrible grades in English that is why I am an engineer and not a writer. Any tips/constructive criticism on how to improve my writing would be appreciated.
Thank you for taking the time to read the whole post.
