Let’s look at one piece. We have a power system called devil fruits, a sub class of devil fruits are “logia”. logia users can turn into an element or a “class” of an element. For example “fire, steam, magma, smoke”

In every one of these powers the user pretty much ignores that they just transformed themselves AND their clothes into an element. Realistically that makes no sense, but neither does transforming into smoke. How can I put a logical spin on these abilities to explain why they can transform their clothing into their element. So they’re not just walking around naked every time they use their powers?

I’ve thought of having a system in place that makes them have a small area of affect of turning things into their element, but not living organisms. So if I punch at them they can’t just turn my hand into water or something
