I am using the machine ( pic here) to work on my chest. I am trying to particularly work on lower chest for definition. Hence, I put this machine seat in decline, I also adjust the upper lever such that my elbows are below my chest (as suggested by manual on the machine). However, I am facing the following problem:
1) when my start position is such that my elbows are below my chest, I feel more tension on my shoulder caps and after the workout I feel no soreness on my lower chest but feel my shoulder caps worked out instead.
2) if I adjust my starting position such that my elbows are in line with my chest, I feel I don't get the full range of push motion and may not be working on anything at all!
I am confused, I really want to work on my chest but I feel I end up working on my shoulders! Any help will be appreciated!
