Hi. So this could be a bit of a read, and honestly I was doing very well pre covid. I was lifting for a year consecutively, but when gyms start to close I gained lets say 40 lbs. i used to be lean. I was 148 lbs before I took my lifting journey, went down to 125 lbs when i was consistent. After covid, and meeting my girlfriend I live with I am now around 160 lbs and I am a short guy of 5’4 ft tall.
Now trying to get back to it is the hardest. Gyms started to open here in Canada early this year. However, breaking my bad eating habits, and the anxiety of going back to the gym is just… rough. I even bought this famous YouTuber’s workout program for a cheap price to see the “intermediate workout” if it will work, but everytime I do it I am just exhausted as hell to the point i dont wanna go back again.
Now I was diving deep into this, and figured I should go back to my beginner split bro workout, the same workout i was consistently doing before, but this time on alternate days instead 5 days in a row. My biggest struggle is the consistency. I’d really like to have a serious discussion about this since my confidence has taken a serious toll. Looking at my old pictures I look soooo much better, and remembering how confident I was. My life improved in so many levels, and really exceeded my work ethic as well. I’d love to see what everyone’s thoughts about this and helpful tips on how do I go back to where I was, and even better. Thanks in advance!
