How did you find your workout routine/schedule?

I’m a 23M, 155, 5’7. I used to be a lot more active in high school, played football in college, but never really hit the gym. I now work a 9-5 and have been lacking motivation to find time to workout. Since I’ve been out of the gym for so long, I’m not sure if I know what exercises to do for my body.
What helped you schedule time for your gym sessions? And how do you know what to do?
