Body weight routines with more weight?

So I guess just posting WAS motivation enough for me to get off my ass and get back into it.

Anyway so I've got a nice set of routines that I've collected from Darebee, which are all body weight exercises. I've also hot 2 sets of 5 lbs ankle/wrist weights (total of 20 lbs) that I use with my routine.

For some exercises, they don't really (or fully) come into play (push ups, squats, anything arms only). I also use them as free weights for things like targeted bicep curls and arm sculpting. (Finally getting some nice bicep definition!)

What's the benefit (if any) for using them? Will I achieve better results? Faster results? Am I burning more calories?

should I keep going? I'm not feeling any additional aches or pains than a normal workout, just...more.

thanks for any answers/advice
