I am 50 years old, 5’10”, 201 pounds. I lift like it’s the end of the world four times per week. I walk for 30 minutes to an hour another four times per week why do I not lose weight at 2000 cal per day? I use myfitnesspal and weigh everything.
Don’t get me wrong. Using 1900 calories I’ve lost 32 pounds in the past year but I wonder what the heck my TDEE must be. Is it typical to have a TDEE of 2000 daily calories at this age and activity level?
All of the online calculators told me I should be eating closer to 3000 cal per day, or more, but I recently ran at 2500 cal for six weeks and I put on 6 1/2 pounds. It damned sure wasn’t muscle.
