Keep toddler home or send to daycare?
Post Body

Update: we ended up keeping him home and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. It’s hard but better to be safe than sorry. Good luck to all you parents out there in the same boat...solidarity!

Daycares in our area are still operating (mostly), but schools will be closed for the next 2 weeks. I WFH and my spouse was put on remote work for the next 2 weeks so we will both be home. We love our daycare. Our 18m son loves his daycare. He learns so much and is thriving there. We are paying a lot for it. I want to keep him going as long as they are open, but I'm not sure if I should keep him home in light of everything going on right now. Everything I've read says this virus is generally very mild in children (otherwise there would be no question). I mean...it's not like we stop sending our kids to school during flu season...and it was really nasty this year!

Is anybody else voluntarily pulling their kid out of daycare even if it's staying open? Anybody planning to send their child to daycare as long as it remains open? I am anticipating closure at some point and part of me wants to keep him going as long as we can so I can actually get stuff done for work.
