I'm interested in a school but they have a requirement for 3 year olds that they can independently clean themselves if they have a potty accident. I'm not sure of the feasibility of the requirement below, so asking parents with older kids (3 ):
All kids 3 and under must be fully toilet trained before entering the program. If your
child is still wearing pull-ups at night, they are not considered toilet
trained. Teachers may NOT enter the washroom or assist children in using the
washroom or changing their clothes. Here are the procedures we take in the event of an
accident:
● If your child has an accident involving urine, he/she will be escorted to the
bathroom to change. He/she must be able to change his/her own self and
in a timely fashion. If your child is unable to do this, you will be called to
come change or pick up your child.
● If there is an accident with feces,, you will be immediately
notified to come change or pick up your child.
My son was “fully” potty trained just after his 3rd birthday. He doesn’t have many accidents but he did have a couple a preschool. They helped him change and I didn’t hear anything of it. He still needs help wiping though and his teacher said not to worry about it “we have gloves” so I think it’s important to ask other parents and the teacher and see how strictly the adhere to the mandated requirement
