New working mom here - I have a three month old (he was in the NICU for about 36 days and I took a minor leave after my C-section for two weeks, then went to work intermittently until he came home.) I am now coming to the time where my leave is going to end. Hubby is a professor and he is taking over for me for the month break he has, and then after MIL will be watching over my kiddo since both of us work. She had offered 6 months to watch, which I am grateful for. I feel anxious to go back and quite sad because as much as I am tired and worn out from taking care of my son, I absolutely love it. I cherish every moment.
I guess I have a few questions. For the working moms here, what were your initial feelings upon going back to work and how did you deal with it? And what were your options for your children to be watched? Even tho MIL is offering to watch him for 6 months, I do feel guilty because I don't want to put the burden on her - maybe it's just a weird complex I have. Any advice would be great as I am nearing that time to go back to work and I'm feeling a lot right now. I am a planner, and like to make sure things go smoothly in advance, which is why I'm asking the options question as well. All advice is appreciated!
