Maternity leave is hard and we've been managing but it's been tight
We've been okay for the most part, we've been lucky to pay our bills, groceries when we need them, an outing or two in a month (nothing crazy, like a packed lunch and a trip to the beach or zoo. Maybe out for breakfast.)
I was coming around to getting back to work and being able to save and pay down a couple things aggressively. Then I realized daycare will eat up my paychecks and we'll be the same. I've got to find another solution/job because I can't do this anymore.
Ah daycare, so expensive but necessary ðŸ˜
I think it depends on your priorities. I look at it as an investment into my career by being able to work and continue to grow as well as an investment for my daughter. She's learned so many more things from daycare than she would have from me alone and now also has friends she wouldn't have had either. She is well on her way to be ready for Kindergarten next year. So it's a win win even when it takes a lot out of our salaries for her to be able to go.
