Looking for advice on changing careers. I have a BA in forensic psychology but the only jobs in my area are clinical psych and the hours don’t work with daycare. I currently work as a medical assistant and make 19.32 an hour and work M-F. I’m not making ends meet. I’ve been applying for a second job for months because I have a family member who will take my daughter on Sundays but no one will hire me for just one day a week. I doordash where I can but it’s still not enough. I’ve cut costs everywhere but my rent is $1200 a month which is most of my paycheck. Daycare and other bills eat the rest of it and I have to rotate which bills I skip each month. My daughters father doesn’t pay his support and is not involved.
I want to switch careers. I need to make more money and need something M-F. Any advice? I can’t afford to go back to school yet. My background is healthcare, management, and food service. I’m a quick learner, hard worker, and good at math. I don’t want to struggle anymore
