All, I have 13 years of programming experience ( 7 years of Oracle db programming and 6 years of Oracle Finance). I work as a contractor for a very reputed university in USA , few months ago I was asked to join their HCM team as post go live WD technical support team.
Working with WD is totally different when compared to Oracle EBS. With Oracle, I can work for anyone but with WD I can only work for partner companies and with out certifications no body would consider me.
At my work place there is a clear separation between functional team and technical support team in terms of what I get to do. At this point I am not sure how I can gain functional knowledge and get in to implementing roles.
I personally think people with implementation experience make ton of money and are in demand. Can someone tell me how I should approach this scenario to get really good with WD and be in a position of strength.
