I got a new job, and I fell on my face.
Post Body

I have been out of new work for two years. I was lucky enough to get that perfect job.

I spent the past two years looking for the right job at the right organization. Two weeks ago, my hard work to get that job paid off. I received an offer, and I accepted it. I start my job in one week.

However, something happened. Tonight, I was walking to my car and as I crossed the street, I literally hit a pothole, tripped, and landed right on my face. Literally on my face. After my shock and going to the ER, I was diagnosed as having a broken nose, multiple lacerations on my face, and left with worrying about my first day.

Itโ€™s an inside sales position, but sales are sales. No matter what kind of team you are part of, there is strong competition in the office. I wanted to walk in with a smooth transition, but this will be something to deal with on the very first day at the very first minute.

I feel extremely confident about this position, my boss seems like a good soul, but I am worried about how to approach my first day with this busted-up face. There is the humor road, the serious road, or the ignore road. I really donโ€™t know how I should approach it. Hell, I was thinking about wearing sunglasses into the office.

I am intrigued about how all of you would deal with this situation.

Thanks and Fridays are only five days away.
