Post Body

A month ago I landed a dream job out of my Masters program. Working at a hospital as a social worker. The employer I interviewed with said they had a good feeling about me and wanting to pull the trigger. They said HR would work with me on sending offer and the other onboarding steps.

Hr reached out, provided offer that I signed. And let me know that my start date would be the first available orientation 3 weeks out, 11/20. Tomorrow. I also completed I9 verification, physical and drug screening, and submitted for background check.

Last week an HR employment person reached out saying the background check had verification issues on some jobs, and requested paystubs for said jobs. I provided paystubs, but it seemed the background check flagged issue because I was 3ish weeks off on some of the dates. This was the end of last week that they let me know, and I submitted the paystubs to them on thursday/friday.

I reached out monday, 2 days before my job was supposed to start, asking about status of this as I had yet to receive first day information and orientation attendance info. They replied this morning with "Hello, I have forwarded your paystubs to my director and will follow up with you this afternoon".

I literally turned down a job that I had already accepted bc of this offer, and moved across the country for this. That other job cleared the background check no issue with the same dates.

I am not sure what this means or what to make of this and am on the verge of panic. I have a bad feeling.
