I work every weekend at my job, which doesnāt really bother me. Iāve been there for maybe 9-10 months so I understand that Iām gonna get last pick at schedules and what not since the people who have been there longer get first pick. What upsets me is when friends or family members are like ādonāt you hate having to work weekends?ā āThat must suck having to work weekendsā. Like who do they think runs the rest of the world when theyāre sitting at home on the weekends? 90% of places are open on weekends these days anyway so why is it such a suprise when someone works weekends. Not to mention when people go out on the weekends who do they think is running all the stores and restaurants that these people are going out to? And yes itās usually older people who I hear these things from but sometimes itās people my age as well. (Iām 20) For some reason hearing this just triggers something in me and makes me feel like some people are completely disconnected from reality. Anyone else get this?
