[VENT] Passed on because I was honest in my interview about looking for other opportunities

Post Body

Just wanted to vent. I had a very nice interview yesterday, good vibes from both interviewers. But today I was called and got told that they're passing me on because they have doubts about my wanting to join them.

Some more context: I'm looking to relocate next year, I'm not super picky about the location. This came up when they asked for my motivation for leaving my job. I told them it was more of a motivation to live abroad. This job was in the Netherlands. If I had got it I would've been relocated and stayed there at least three years. But since I mentioned I was looking also into jobs in Germany and Denmark, they took that as "oh this person is not really interested in the Netherlands" and that's the reason why I was passed on.

So, lesson learned. Lie. Or at the very least, keep this to myself.
