Does anyone remember Milk Flavoured Milk? Back in the bad old days, New Zealand supermarkets weren't allowed to sell milk. You could only buy milk from a dairy or get it home delivered. You couldn't buy it from a petrol station either, meaning if you missed your home delivery and the local dairy was shut, that was it, you were stuffed.
Eventually, sometime in the 80s, supermarkets were allowed to sell FLAVOURED milk, so we got chocolate 🍫 flavoured milk, strawberry 🍓 flavoured milk, banana 🍌 flavoured milk and yes, MILK flavoured milk 🥛 I still remember it, clear as day. It was sold under the No Frills brand through Woolworths supermarkets, (when they were called Woolworths the first time around). I'm not sure how long this went on for, but obviously, someone realised how crazy it all was and allowed us to buy milk from the supermarket.
I've mentioned this tale to a few people, but nobody else remembers it happening.
