If you ever feel like you're being charged an inflated price at self-serve checkouts, you probably are. I tried to put through $24 worth of groceries today, used my monthly 10% and my $10 Woolworths credit. Next screen reads "$10 paid, $34 to insert". Fuck me. The little homonculus of late-stage capitalism that is Woolworths self-service AI wanted to eat up all my discounts and charge me an extra $10 somewhere along the way. Funny how these maths errors always seem to go against the customer. Luckily I was just sober enough to notice and get the price corrected, but what the fuck Woolworths, I feel like we can do better.
I guess the self serve is quickly learning from our sect leaders, our loving government. Everyone's so quick to take your money off your hands, as its a burden to you...
