Is an electric hand planer worth the money?

Hey, so like the title says is an electric hand plane worth it? I'm a weekend woodworker with less than 10 projects and a limited budget? I've been fortunate enough that everything had been soft woods plywood or I've been able to get a flat edge using a jig and my table saw. However a couple of projects I'd like start require 2x10 boards and a flat face? Would an electric be worth it for me? Or is finding a specialty place to mill boards for me a better option?
