I'm finishing up building my shop and I'm still missing the most important piece of equipment, a good workbench.
I want to build a bench that can be passed down to the next generation or the one after.
With all the different types of benches that can be made and different ways of holding the material, I'm at a loss for which way to go.
A split top Roubo looks like it would be a solid contender, but I also like the simplicity of a Nicholson style bench (the savings on vise hardware is pretty appealing too).
So, I guess I'm looking for some ideas and inspiration to guide me before I jump right into it. What do you like in a workbench? Any features you wish yours had? I'd love to hear your thoughts.
