Fading aniline dye
Post Body
Got some curly maple and am making a magnetic bottle opener. Gift is for a blackhawks fan. Would like to fade the black/white(plain maple)/red colors from left to right . Kind of like a sunburst guitar fades. I've watch a couple videos where they use a Hvlp system (which I don't have). Sand heavy in the middle working lighter towards the sides? Tape off moving the tape in a little each time with multiple coats? Dilute each coat more with denatured alcohol moving inwards?
