I've been struggling to find a new lathe to either replace or supplement a couple of other lathes we have at work. While our current ones are doing fantastically they are 50 years old and we're looking to get some new ones of similar quality and weight.
It seems the only place in the UK still selling lathes of cast iron construction are Axminster with their Jet brand. I'm looking for something preferably a bit more rugged and heavier. There doesn't seem to be anything out there in the £15,000 range, or at least not that I'm seeing. Most industry lathes are now automated which is not what we're looking for.
If anyone has any suggestions or knows of any companies selling wood lathes in this price range please let me know.
