I'm interested in building a simple, but rather large (4'x6'), table for a rec room. I don't really intend for it to be anything fancy, appearance-wise, but it would be nice if it didn't look horribly out of place as a piece of indoor furniture.
With that in mind, I was wondering if anyone could give me any kind of input on the hardwood plywood sold at Lowes or maybe Home Depot.
I don't want to sink more than $100-$150, at the most, into the project, and noticed that Lowes sells 1/4" 4'x8' sheets of Oak and Birch ply for ~$30. I couldn't find any grade info on their website, but I found this page that mentioned such sheets are usually C3.
Given that I'm trying to balance cheap against "Eh, looks alright." I'm not certain that I'm after A1 or A2 like that article mentions, but I was wondering if anyone had worked with something in that C3 quality area and could tell me if it was along the lines of garage-only quality.
(I apologize if this is a poorly worded/overly long question.)
Edited to fix link.
