Why is my wood stain not drying?

Post Body
I tried to make these pieces black, I think it’s wood. It was almost like a wood foam, kind of soft. It’s been 24hrs and some stain still shows when I wipe it with a cloth. It’s in my basement in low humidity. What’s going on? I used an oil based stain.
Note: I don’t know what I’m doing.

On that type of porous substrate it could take a good bit of time to dry, depending on much you flooded the surface.
I'd put it outside in a warm sunny spot and wipe every half hour. Keep an eye on it, don't just leave it on the sun and walk away. If you have to go somewhere, put it back in the shade.
It's normal for some amount of dark stain to bleed off for awhile. That's why it's necessary to seal the surface with a finish once the stain is dry.
