My father was the carpenter/electrician and everything else in my house but unfortunately he passed not too long ago. My skill set was never anything to do with tools or woodworking, carpentry or electrical work - I have my skills with computers, design/animation/media/coding etc. but, I still have my sister and mother who i need to help and have been learning as I go trying to fill in for what it was my father would of been tasked to do. I run into problems when I have no idea what it is im looking at or how to even go about trying to figure it out.
....this is where my problem comes in, Im trying to remake gate that my grandfather had made years ago but what he used to hold it in place and let it open freely (until obstructed) I have never seen before and I have not be able to find anything that even pointed me in a general direction....
I'll leave a pic and a short clip in case anyone is able to help me and tell me what these things are
Thanks again,
