Restoring hand plane sole - considerable low spot around edges/mouth?

Post Body

Hey all, I'm trying my first plane restoration (Stanley 4 1/2) and have been working on flattening this plane sole for several hours, some wet sanding and some dry. It's fairly flat overall now but around all the edges including the mouth remains a low spot which can be seen in the picture by the blue sharpie still being there.

Should I keep going at it to bring the whole rest of the sole down to being perfectly flat, or is the slight roundness around the edges normal/acceptable?

Thanks.
