M18 router collect not releasing bits

I have the M18 trim router, and I absolutely love the tool, except that the collect doesn't release the bits. When loosened off I have to fully remove the collect from the tool and either pry or press the bits out. When the bits go in everything slides and moves as it should, it just doesn't release. Any ideas what could be causing this? I've made sure everything is clean, I've tried some lubricant, different brands of bits. Thinking of ordering a new collect but I wanted to see if anyone had any ideas before spending money.
