Looking for some info on a tabletop

I'm planning to make a tabletop using some Mahogony and Red Oak. I would like to lay it out where the Oak breaks up the Mahogony across the tabletop towards the center and as it goes form one side to the other the woods get thinner. I don't know if there is some kind of template for this or what it's called. I feel like there's a word for it, but google hasn't helped.

Is there a name so I can look up more examples, or is there a way to calculate the be proportions to make it look even?
