Beginner question about removing carbon paper stains

I bought carbon paper at the craft store for a project on smooth bamboo wood. But some of the blue ink stained the wood, and for the life of me I can’t get it off. I tried an eraser and water and dishwashing soap. Am i doing something wrong or is my pricey blue carbon paper the wrong product for the project? Any tips are welcome!
