Hi everyone, I’m so glad I found this sub Reddit. I’ve been in the medical field, specifically radiology, for the past 12 years and it is sucking my soul. I hate the level of micromanaging, the routine, the lack of flexibility, the list goes on. A friend who is a teacher that turned software engineer gave me a link to this but did not give any instructions. The site was called codesmith. I have ADHD and feel overwhelmed with not knowing where to start so I usually don’t start.
The overwhelming consensus of what I’ve heard is, it’s hard to get into. I also am unsure of what specifically I might like since I’ve been so long in the medical field. Something that’s super important to me is to be able to use creativity and have autonomy, not going into an office every day. I am a complex problem solver and would thrive in that type of environment. I know a few people that would help if they are all men and have ulterior motives if you know what I mean. I also make good money now 110-ish, and I’m hesitant to take on a lot of debt with courses or starting over at 75K. I know there will have to be sacrifices, but the cake has to be worth the bake.
Thank you for any guidance ❤️
