My take on this sort of business in the WMMT community.
Here in the Philippines, I'm seeing dozens of people self-employing themselves to getting bookings from other people to "pilot" their cars for 4-way battle medals.
Rates differ among Gold, Silver, Bronze, and the last place medals.
I know WMMT is just a video game, but I think these people are freeloading on the fact that majority of the players have day jobs and don't have the time to play their cars.
One example, is here where I usually play (Tom's World SMB, if you notice the area), these 2 people almost "rent out" the cabs (yes, all 4) for the entire day. Even after game prices increased, they still wouldn't stop. They're not even locals.
They have the time and resources to travel here from where they live to our local arcade and prevent other people to even play a single game.
I might sound like I'm ranting but I think this is getting out of hand (insert Sinister Strange here). Luckily, so far this week, they are a no-show. So, us who are the local players get to fully utilize the game cabs.
I find it funny that someone who "gets" an 11th Grade Pro status be worse than a VS 1st Grade player thanks to this. Maybe it's just a personal thing of mine of earning the rank on your car, not just you paid big bucks for it.
I want to know if it's only here in the PHL that this sort of thing is happening, since I've been a part of this community since I started playing in 3DX
