5’3” F, HW: 231, CW: 224 bmi barely over 40, mild OSA. So I definitely qualify for surgery with my insurance, but just barely. I’ve dieted down to 135 before, maintained for about 8 months, but gained right back. I’m the textbook definition of a yo-yo dieter. I’m very interested in surgery and feel like it’s a tool that will finally keep me on track, but can’t help feel like I’m not quite “bad enough” to justify surgery?
Has anyone else been in a similar situation? Have you gone through with wls? Do you regret it?
I’m in early pre-op phases (month 2 of 6 for this program), and feel like I jumped in head first. I really want to make sure I’m not just blinded by the amazing successes, and am actually making the “right” decision. I know only I can determine that in the end, but wondering what others think?
