So... I lurk here quite a bit. I explored the procedure myself, including submitting to insurance and having a date scheduled, but didn't go through with it; it wasn't the right time for me. I am very supportive of everyone who has gone through this. It's not easy. That being said, wife has had WLS and been super successful, but it hasn't been with its ups and downs.
She's now coming up on 2 years post op. She's having lots of tummy issues. Nausea, heartburn, general pain. She previously had an ulcer at her connection site diagnosed with an endoscopy. The pain subsided a bit, but is now back with a vengeance. They've removed a couple staples again, but no ulcer. They are now discussing doing a laparoscopy to see if there is a hernia. Evidently a couple of the OR nurses she knows (she also works in healthcare) has mentioned having a hernia is super common. My wife remembers this being a risk, but I don't recall. However they make this seem like it happens all the time. That surprises me, as I rarely see posts about it.
Now no one who has said anything so far is a doctor, and she's going through getting proper treatment. I'm just curious has anyone had a similar experience?
