Alternate coping skills & habits

Post Body

Hi all! I just had a checkup with my PCP, and I weighed in at an all time high. đŸ˜”â€đŸ’« We talked about all sorts of things, and her advice was to get back in intense therapy and find alternate coping skills than eating fast food. This is my major coping skill. In fact, it’s not just for coping with negatives, it’s a habit, it’s fun, etc. We briefly talked about WLS, and she told me about all the WLS fails she knows, because the underlying issues aren’t fixed. This is exactly the reason I haven’t gone through with surgery yet. I know I would regain.

So my question to you all is: can y’all give me ideas of things you do to fill in the bad eating habit times? I know my solution is going to be basically getting “addicted” to something else other than “bad” food. I wish it could be something like exercise, but I know that’s not realistic. I need something I can do on the way to work and while sitting at my desk. Something I can do early in the morning and late at night. Something I can do around my kids. Something that’s socially acceptable. Something I can do while multitasking at work/home. Something that doesn’t depend on other people. A pick-me-up. Any ideas?

In the meantime, I’ll get back into intense therapy, go back to my OA meetings, and re-immerse myself in crafting.
