So I’m going into my 3rd month of pre op. The main reason I’m still not sure which surgery to get is the issue of acid reflux. I’ve dealt with it for almost 6 years. Mainly happens when I eat acid rich foods, fried/greasy stuff, and spicy stuff. It isn’t a constant thing, just random and doesn’t always happen when I eat those foods, just random times. I only remember maybe 4 times in the 6 years where I choked on acid and it was quick.
I had my pre op endoscopy last week. Was told everything looks great and no signs of GERD. Had an endoscopy once before and was told the same thing. So I’m just really unsure about being sleeved. I don’t mind dealing with the acid reflux I have now, but terrified of it getting worse. There are things I do not like about RNY and would prefer to avoid it.
So anyone that had acid reflux before being sleeved doing ok now? Anyone’s get worse? Any advise and insight is appreciated.
